J-Bro194 Driver with Carriage Figural Brooch

This brooch is c.1920 and is not signed although newer pieces have been seen with rhinestone wheels signed Kramer. Many driver and carriage brooches were made in the 1940-60's era. The umbrella, driver with whip and carriage are a gold wash over copper. The applied wheels are clamped on from the back. The inside of the white metal cast wheels are die cut like hexagons (at first sight you would think they are marcasites). The carriage has a license plate with a ruby glass cabochon in the very center, bezel set in a silver tone setting. The umbrella is riveted to the setting just behind the license plate. Kind vintage wear to the setting in a few spots, this figural is in wonderful condition.
