This amazing Alice Caviness set is a prototype ~ the original design ~ consisting of a necklace, bracelet and matching clip earrings. This set was featured in Women's Wear Daily journal 1960. The necklace is two strands of faceted glass beads covered with a white pearlized coating and separated with small gold tone spacer beads. The necklace and bracelet center pieces have open work filigree center stations with engraved gold tone leaves, clam shells, Mother of pearl discs, pearlized navettes and multi sized beads covered with a pearlized aurora borealis coating. The necklace terminates with six dangling tassels and measures 23 inches long to the center piece. It measures 1-3/4 wide and dangles 5-3/4 inches long. The elegant bracelet is a true cuff measuring 2 inches wide x 7-1/2 inches long. The earrings are 1 x 1-1/2 long and are signed on the back. A signature hang tag accompanies the unsigned necklace, the bracelet is also not signed. The set has been confirmed by Millie Petronzio as her original Alice Caviness design. Millie was the head designer for Alice Caviness from the 1950's until the early 1980's. These pieces have been in a private collection, have never been worn and are in new condition.
