J-2773 Edwardian Amethyst Filigree Necklace

Elegant filigree stations with a rhodium plate setting line this c.1915 necklace. The pierced openwork has three floral designs on each link. The connector bars are also decorated with scroll work. The pendant has a large amethyst faceted glass stone guarded by white synthetic seed pearls. The pendant dangles 1-1/2 inches (from top of bail) and measures 7/8 x 1-1/8 tall. The necklace measures 16 inches long and is exceptional condition for it's age. No chips or cracks in the stone, very light weight like a sterling silver necklace would be but there are no marks to be found. The floral designed pinch clasp was patented by Louis Vetter of Providence RI in 1917 and has the number 1257158.
